Content Meets Style
Now, in addition to choosing the content, you want to be tattooed, you can also choose a style of script. Fortunately, there are so many different styles from which to choose, so you might need a while to decide what you want. Also, the tattoo artist should be able to help you choose the right one.
Script tattoos are essentially an art form in itself. Similar to how some artists may specialize in realism, others may lean in favor of using watercolors for tattoos, some artists may love doing script tattoos. So, you need to find an artist who has a knack for script tattoos.
Formal Script Tattoos
When we say formal scripts, it means ones that date back to the 17th or 18 century similar to the ones that writers like George Bickham and George Snell created. The script created by these men were done so using a quill or a specially designed metal pen nib. These typefaces are used for formal writing.
Most tattoo artists are talented enough to tattoo a few basic scrips that they might be familiar with. However, if you want something that’s more challenging or something that’s requires more work, i.e. something that’s fancier, then find a specialist.
Many artists, at least those work for reputed tattoo shops will let you know if it is something they can handle. Reputed tattoo shops don’t over commit and under deliver because that’s not how their reputation has been built. So, it pays to take some time out to look around.
